KNOWLEDGE

“That I may know him and
The power of his resurrection and
The fellowship of his sufferings
Being made conformable unto his death;”

Philippians 3:10

There is a big difference between KNOWING someone, and knowing ABOUT someone.

The Beatles were (and are) world famous, and everyone 'knows' about Paul McCartney. We’ve listened to his songs, danced to his music, seen him in concerts, and watched documentaries and interviews about his life. People have even extensively studied biographies about him, but even with all that material, while you can know a lot About him, it doesn’t mean that you personally KNOW HIM.

The same can be said about what it means to KNOW GOD.

Being an expert in theology, eschatology, church history, Hebrew & Greek, the Old & New Testaments, ancient history and hermeneutics is not the same as personally knowing God. In fact, there are even famous theologians who are highly knowledgeable in their fields that even admit that they are not true believers!

As today’s scripture tells us, to truly KNOW GOD entails understanding and having the resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead dwelling in our spirit (Romans 8:11) and living a life molded and conformed to His Life. (Romans 8:29)

Friend, where are you placing your trust?

In having Knowledge ABOUT God, or
In Truly KNOWING Him?
