According to the Oxford dictionary, the rules of grammar
specify that all proper nouns like
cities, countries, and people’s names are always capitalized.
For example, the name “Dawn” is written with a
capitol 'D' to distinguish it from the dawn of the
morning sun. Things of importance are always capitalized
as well. Likewise, when referring to the leader of
a country we capitalize the titles for
'Queen Victoria' and 'President Washington.'
The best example of this in our high-tech world is that while we don’t
capitalize 'computer' or 'cell phone,'
we DO use a capital “I”
when writing the word Internet.
However on the contrary there are some
who write the case letter for God with a lower case
'god'
and Bible with a lowercase
'bible.'
These are not simply mistakes in English grammar,
but as today’s scripture reminds us
are a blinding to and a lack of respect of
not only who GOD IS, but also to the
importance of his WORD.
The case that is used in defining the supreme being and his words to
the world are a CHOICE, and how you scribe these two words is an
indicator of how you honor (or don’t honor) them
as to your personal importance.
Friend, how do you ascribe the the writing and importance of these two words?
And in particular, is this 'god' simply another 'lord' among
many gods, or is he LORD of all?
