You can run TOWARDS
Your Choices
But you can’t FLEE
Your Consequences
“Whoever keeps commandments
Keeps their life but
Whoever shows contempt for their ways

Our natural tendency is to GO our own way,
DO our own thing – and as a famous lyric once touted –
do it MY way. No one confines our choices,
and we are free to make any choice, go any direction,
and do anything we want. That is not in question,
but the result of our choices always resolves to
either ACHIEVING A CONQUEST or RECEIVING A CONSEQUENCE.
You see, just as our earthly fathers seek
to protect us from all danger and harm,
so it is with our heavenly father.
1 John 5:3 aptly put it this way saying:
“For this is the love of God,
that we keep his commandments:
and his commandments are NOT grievous.”
Not only are they not 'grievous'
(i.e. not causing pain or difficult)
but like this excellent illustration by
cartoonist Michael Waters, they are designed
to protect us from jumping to decisions
that may end in a bad landing!
Friend, no one is telling you that you have to
follow God’s Commands to live your life.
But if you do, by minding the guardrails of His fatherly care
you will always remain on a safe and blessed road.
