Step
Out Of The Shadow
Step
Into The Light

“He himself bore our sins in his body
on the cross, so that we might die to sins and
live for righteousness; by his wounds
you have been healed.”

1 Peter 2:24

shadow-lampost Most people have no idea what the phrase “Jesus bore our sins” truly means. Are you one of those people? If so read on, because it is perhaps the most important things in this life that you need to understand.

You see my friend, we are all in a darkness and under the shadow of our sin. In order to step into the light of God’s forgiveness the key is receiving what Christ’s 'sacrifice' means. It means a substitution and payment for something you owe, and that is the debt of your sin that you cannot pay. Christ’s sacrificial pain, suffering and blood that He shed on the cross was that payment made for YOU personally!

Jesus completely did away with the power of sin so that YOU could be set free from it! When you come to realize this deep down inside and give your heart as well as follow Him, then it is as though all your sins had never existed. When you do, you then step out from under sin’s shadow into the Light of Christ. The Bible puts it this way when it says,

“As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

Psalm 103:12

Can you imagine how far God removes our sins? Isn’t this wonderful that there is a Holy God in heaven that is so kind and merciful that He alone can do this? Hopefully this scripture gives you a sense of peace! It does to me, but please understand that stepping out from under sin’s shadow doesn’t mean you will always live a perfectly sinless life. We live in a fallen world and sometimes you still might stumble and fall into sin, but the great news is that God made a promise, sworn in the blood of Jesus in 1 Peter 2:24 that says when you confess your sin (no matter how large or small) that He is faithful and just to forgive you of all your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Don’t stay under that shadow one more minute! Go to Jesus and repent of your sins and receive God’s forgiveness. If you’re having trouble forgiving yourself for the sins in your life, let them go! It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, God knows all about them anyway, because He knows every single sin you’ve done and He loves you anyway. What He cares about is you recognizing them, confessing them with your whole heart, and asking Him to forgive you. He will hear your prayer. Then forgive yourself and you will be amazed at the release you will feel in your whole entire being.

If you want to move out from the shadow and into the light, then pray this prayer right now:

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know me inside and out. You saw me being born and you know where I am right now.
I know you know every sin I have ever done, but I have not come to you before and
confessed them with my whole heart. I am doing this right now. Would you please forgive me?
Jesus, come into my heart and take them away so that I know I am forgiven and clean inside.
I want to accept you as my Lord and my Savior and have eternal life in heaven.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen

My friend, if you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now accepted as a son or daughter of God and have stepped out of the shadow of sin into the glorious light of Christ and have received His forgiveness today!
