How Long is Your
Rap Sheet?

We’ve all seen the detective programs on TV where a suspect is in the interrogation room, the captain tells the two arresting detectives “I pulled this guy’s rap sheet and it is a mile long. He’s been committing crimes since he got out of juvenile hall.” At that point they all nod their heads knowing that this guy is going down and will get indicted and convicted when he appears before the judge.

In the legal world, the vast majority of us don’t have a rap sheet, but in the spiritual world we all have a rap sheet so long that if we had to appear before the throne of heaven, we would ALL definitely be in big trouble! Think about this! If you committed only ONE SIN each day of your life, by the time you were 21 your sin rap sheet would be over 7,000 lines long, by 40 over 15,000 infractions and by 65 almost 24,000 lines long. Then at the end of your life as today’s scripture describes, there will be a time when you will have to go to a heavenly court and stand before the Almighty Judge, and given your rap sheet, do you think you will be acquitted?!? Hardly!! God is loving, but he is also JUST and “…your sins shall find you out.” (Numbers 32:23)

But here is the GOOD NEWS! YOU CAN SETTLE OUT OF COURT! But did you know that you have to have a heavenly lawyer with connections that will wipe away your rap sheet?:

“If any man sin,
we have an advocate (literally: Lawyer) with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous.”
1 John 2:1

Friend, do not come to the end of your life without receiving Christ as your personal Advocate & Saviour! He represented you before the court of heaven at the Cross at Calvary, wiped clean the slate of EVERYONE’s rap sheet and all you have to do is agree that you are a sinner and simple receive this free gift to forgive you of all your (rap sheet) sins and HE WILL.
