With Christmas day quickly approaching, literally billions will be spent on material “stuff”. The frenzy will continue at a fevered pace up to the big day yet most won’t ever STOP and say to themselves in their madness to shop, “What Are We Doing and WHY Are We Doing This?!!?!?”

Promotion and practice have conditioned most people to focus on Giving the Gift of STUFF, when actually the reason for the season is about the Giving of the Gift of the SAVIOR. Christmas is not - and should not - be about presents, but about being “present” about the PRESENT of the Savior who came to RESCUE THE WORLD and redeem us from our sins and open the biggest gift of all; eternal life in heaven.

Friend, if you aren’t present with the present about the PRESENT, God wants for you and everyone to wake up and understand that this special time is all about Christ, and not material things that will be given, come and go, and fade away. The gift of Christ as Rescuer can and will never fade away and if you receive it, will give you the gift of eternal life to live an abundant life starting now on earth and forever in Heaven.

The Apostle John wrote of how the gift arrived saying:

“(Christ) was in the world,
although the world was made through Him,
they did not know Him. He came to His own, (the Jews)
and His own did’t receive Him, but as many that do receive Him, He gives to them
the right to become children of God,
to those who believe in His name.”
John 1:9-13

Enjoy that first Christmas gift! But when you do also remember His miraculous birth, His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, and how He came down from heaven TO RESCUE YOU AND ME from our sins. Jesus is no longer a babe in a manger, He lives in heaven and He lives in the hearts of those of us who know Him and love Him.

If you don’t know Jesus this is the perfect time to ask Him to come into your heart right now this very moment. Will you pray the following prayer with me if you have not believed in Him?:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I have neglected you for so long.
I am so sorry because I see your light in my friends and
they have something I wish I had. I know deep down inside that it’s your light.
Will you please forgive me of my sins and accept me into your heart and let me know that you are in mine and I am yours?
I want to have the confidence they have inside about you, too.
Thank you for being my RESCUER.
In Jesus name I ask this,
Amen.
