Are You Living Life
HIS Way
(or)
MY Way?

“I have chosen the faithful way;
I have placed Your ordinances before me.”

Psalm 119:30

One of the late, great Frank Sinatra’s signature songs was “My Way” - a story of life for a man that achieved all he accomplished on his own, despite what the world threw at him. Through his own will, determination and moxie, “The Chairman of the Board” became one of the biggest and most famous entertainers of the 20th century, and he immortalized his accomplishments of living his life “MY WAY” in this iconic song. In this poetic tome he reminisces about nearing the final curtain of death where he will “state my case of which I’m certain,” having few regrets and “...not in a shy way…I did it MY WAY

No doubt Sinatra accomplished a lot and made things happen through sheer will and effort, and that is commendable, but the last stanza flies in the face of this God-given talent when he proclaims:

For what is a man, what has he got if
not himself then he has not
To say the things, he truly feels
and not the worlds of one who kneels.

Friend, we all can live by our lives by our own rules, do what we want and do it ‘My Way,’ yet the road to ultimate success in this life and the next is to live our lives HIS WAY. The Bible says one day that:

“At the name of Jesus
every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is LORD.”

Philippians 2:10-11

At that time, any proclamations about how well we lived our life before God are mute. It is the bended knee in this life and the next that is the only way. This is HIS WAY for OUR WAY.

What is Your Way?
