Know The Terms
Of Your
Lease On Life

We all are driving down the road of life in a leased car, and as the scenery of life whizzes by, it feels at times like this road trip through life will never end. But here’s the thing – the vehicle we are riding in (our mortal body) is temporary and our time of possession of it is limited.

As the Psalmist tells us in today’s scripture verse, unlike a typical auto lease of four years, our lease on life may be around twenty times longer, but at some point the lease runs out and we ‘fly away’ and then new terms start. When it does, do you know the conditions of those terms?

If you do nothing and do not exercise your option, just like a normal lease when it ends you will wind up with nothing and be “…abandoned to the realm of death” (Acts 2:27) in eternity. However we can start a new lease on eternal life –by accepting God’s hand to catch you from the abyss below where our earthly mortal-body is exchanged for a non-expiring eternal-body:

“For we know that when this
earthly tent we live in is taken down
(that is, when we die and leave this earthly body),
we will have a house in heaven,
an eternal body made for us
by God himself and not by human hands. ”
2 Corinthians 5:1

Believe in your heart that
God raised Him from the dead, (and)
You will be saved.”
