God Is Bigger
Than Your Giants

Nothing is too big for God to handle! If we look at giant problems and impossible situations from God’s perspective, we realize that God not only fights for us, but within us.

David’s giant, Goliath, was a 9-foot tall Philistine warrior who wore armor weighing over 125 pounds and carried a 15 pound spear. He had no idea that he was up against an “All-Powerful God” standing right in front of him as he laughed at a small shepherd boy wearing no armor and holding a simple rock and sling. Little did Goliath know that David was all suited up with powerful confidence. David passionately loved God and he knew he would not be standing facing this giant alone. He had already prayed for God’s protection days and nights before the spectacle would even begin. He was ready, fired up and not afraid of the outcome, nor was he going to be intimidated by this huge giant almost twice his size.

You may be facing a giant today. He may be a giant of sickness or failure, financial shortage or another kind of trouble. But don’t let him scare you. You have a secret weapon. A weapon that once turned a shepherd boy into a bear-busting, lion-killing, giant-slaying champion. That weapon was a blood covenant with Almighty God.

Back in David’s day, circumcision was the sign of that covenant. So, when he called Goliath uncircumcised, David was saying: “This guy may be a giant; he may be strong; but he has no covenant with God and that’s why I will defeat him.” Just like David, you, too, have a covenant. But yours is better. You see, the covenant David had offered a wealth of blessings to those who kept it, but it also included curses for those who broke it.

Yours doesn’t. Yours is a new covenant that Jesus bought with His own blood. It doesn’t depend on your ability. It depends on Him and what He has already done. He has done it all! All you have to do is believe it and receive it.

Read Deuteronomy 28:16-68 which is a list of the curses Christ has freed you from. You might even call it a list of the giants Jesus has already slain for you. It contains every diabolical thing the devil could ever use to destroy you. Read them and rejoice. Those are the things God has healed you of and delivered you from! My friend, there is no greater security than the safety we have in Jesus Christ. Have you given your life to Jesus? He is waiting for you to do it today and you will receive the blood covenant Jesus shed on the cross for you. Then you will come to realize that there’s no uncircumcised circumstance on the face of this earth that can take your victory away from you.

Let’s turn to God and pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,
You gave David the confidence and strength to overcome a powerful giant.
You know all that troubles me in my life which so concern me.
Would you please help me crush this giant that I cannot crush by myself? Lord Jesus, how I need you.
In your holy name I pray, Amen
