We now live in a culture that breeds discontentment, indulgences, greed and pride. It seems we are always wanting and needing. Look at how much “stuff” we consume! There are so many things we think we could absolutely NOT do without. Do you know why? It’s not that we have obviously just become so materialistic and increasingly self-absorbed, it’s because we are incapable of contentment on our own.
Contentment comes from knowing God’s plan for your life, having a conviction to live it, and believing God who is called our Jehovah Jireh (in Hebrew, “The Lord will provide”), the One who knows exactly all your needs and will take care of you. if you feel you are discontented with your life, read the following:
Guideline to Contentment Begins with BALANCE
- Estimate your priorities. Don’t let frivolities or un-needed things take 1st place.
- Develop a thankful heart for all your blessings.
- Seek God’s will for your life 1st, not just your own.
- Stand up to fear: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
- Trust God’s promise: “The peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guide your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
My Friend,
The world and ALL of it’s enticements can never give you peace and contentment. Contentment is found in Christ alone.
We are commanded to be content with all that we have in life. Read today’s Bible verse again to remind you of how precious you are to God. To remind you of not of all you don’t have and who you feel you are not, but of what do have, who you truly are, and how you can live a life full of contentment and abundance in Jesus.
God Bless Your Day
