Today’s world is driven by computer based programming languages, and all
of them always use a technique called the IF-THEN statement.
It simply says that if a certain condition is TRUE
then do something, but if it is NOT TRUE do something else.
The Bible has literally dozens of IF-THEN evaluations just like God’s plea to be faithful to him in today’s verse in Deuteronomy, and they all have the same formula and outcome:
[1] IF you_will_obey_my_commandments_and_are_faithful
[2] THEN
[3] i_will_bless_you
[4] ELSE
[5] you_will_face_a_bad_consequence_for_your_actions
[6] END
Wow…it doesn’t get simpler than that! Yet each time we don’t do what is ‘true’ in God’s eyes, our spiritual IF-THEN program will always execute the FALSE-ELSE command on Line 5 and problematic trouble will follow. Just ask the Nation of Israel that wondered around a desert for 40 years!
Like the one’s and zeros’s in a computer, ‘good and bad’ are either ‘on or off’ or ‘true or false.’ Make sure all your LINE [1] IF statements are always TRUE!
