The Hebrew word for holy is quodech which means to be holy, set apart, consecrated, sacred. Does it mean we are to be perfect in all our ways?

Perfection is something only Jesus has achieved. Perfection is something we as Christians must strive for by being conscientious of the world and it’s ways not to give into sin. We are living in this fallen world and Jesus knows the challenges we face every day. He knows all our struggles, because He lived as a human and was tempted just like us. The main thing is for us to be aware always that our purpose in this life is to strive to emulate Him in our hearts, our actions and to purposely set ourselves apart from the world.

So, are you still wondering if you are holy? Why not answer these personal questions to yourself. Have I given my heart to Jesus? Have I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to forgive me? Do I strive to live the Fruits of The Spirit (the character traits of Jesus)? If you said yes to these questions then you are holy, my friend. You are set apart, covered in the blood of Jesus who died for you. You are consecrated from this world to live a wonderful, abundant Christian life. People notice something different about you when they look at you and hear you speak. They see the way you treat and care for others. They see the love of Jesus emanating in your countenance.

It’s obvious that time is short, and yet we still have an opportunity to reach souls for the kingdom of God. Use every opportunity to help others see the need for our Savior. Have you noticed that sometimes we meet people not by chance, but by divine appointment? When ever the Holy Spirit prompts you, tell a person about Jesus. Don’t hesitate while you have this special moment to save someone’s life. Wherever it may be... at a business, bank, store, café, gas station, even church. Be bold and confident. God is always by your side. Speak with the love of Jesus in your heart and that is all you need to do, my friend.

This is what it means to be holy.
