A heart-warming video began with a driver seeing a large brown & white dog lying-lifeless on the side of the road with five little puppies desperately trying to nurse from their dead mother.

The lady in the car, a skilled vet, quicky stopped, rushed to the back of her van, grabbed her medical kit and quickly placed an oxygen mask over the dog’s nose. Working passionately to revive the dog, amazingly several minutes the dog began to take small breaths. She then gave the dog a vital injection and shaved her leg to start an IV. Miraculously, life had returned to her!

All the while, the little puppies were still desperately trying to nurse from their mother, but sadly one precious little pup passed away. Breaking the Dog-Samaritan’s heart, she wrapped the little puppy in a pink towel and lovingly buried the little dog near where her mother had been stricken ill.

The reason I am sharing this with you who may have taken time to read it, is that inside the human heart and spirit, as today’s scripture reminds us, that this compassion is instilled inside of us from the heart of God. This story profoundly touched me and it reminds all of us that life is precious and fleeting.

Friend, we’re all here on this earth to treasure and show kindness to each other, to be conscientious of those we are entrusted to care for but also to the animals who also are so dependent on us - like that precious mother-dog who would never have come to life again without the compassion of that compassionate veterinarian.
