Get Out

The great American satirist Mark Twain was known for writing insightful and thought- provoking sayings, and this particular quote - combined with this admonition from Proverbs – is simple but practical wisdom when navigating the ins-and-outs of life.

Jesus taught that the way to both success in life and to eternal life was to follow a straight and narrow road, and as long as we stay on that road we will stay out of trouble. However once off that road we get into trouble and the longer we stay off that straight and narrow path, we compound our difficulties and dig a pit that traps and ensnares us.

The good news (Gospel) is that God is in the saving business! No matter how far you have gone down the wrong road or how deep the hole you are in, God promises us that HOPE and DELIVERANCE is possible, saying:

“There hath no temptation taken you
but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you
to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13

Friend, no matter how dire your circumstances, no matter how deep the pit you are in, there is a way of escape, and that way is through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. If that is where you are, all you need to do is ask Him. He is patiently waiting for you.
